Volunteering
CRPTjax is a volunteer-lead organization. Without the support of our volunteers, we would not be able to care for these cemeteries.
You can volunteer with CRPTjax in several ways. You can:

- Lead a

Friends of the Cemetery Program
CRPTjax coordinates cemetery preservation activities through our Friends of the Cemetery program. This program matches volunteers to cemeteries that they “adopt” for a specific length of time (3 days to 1 year), which can be renewed.
CRPTjax gains permission and access to be on the site so volunteers can start scheduling cleanups, maintenance, and preservation workdays.
CRPTjax provides the group with orientation and training on appropriate preservation techniques for historic cemeteries and landscapes, the supplies needed to perform a comprehensive survey of the cemetery for documentation, and the cleaning equipment.
CRPTjax also advertises the group’s activities on our website, online at the Times-Union, and in our marketing pieces, as well as press releases to local news organizations and historic preservation societies.
To start a Friends of the Cemetery group call Shannon Palmer at 904-309-0462 or email CRPTjax.
