Bigelow Cemetery Eagle Scout Project
Bigelow Cemetery got a much needed dose of caring and preservation from Eagle Scout Edward Pimentel this summer. He adopted the cemetery after visiting it and other cemeteries in Jacksonville. He was touched by the number of Bigelow family members buried in the cemetery, as well as their deteriorated state.
Edward cleared the land of overgrowth and cut back the trees and vegetation. He surveyed and cleaned all of the stones and reset all of the fallen footstones. The major work was the resetting and repairing of 3 large headstones that had broken and fallen over. After several months of hard work, Bigelow Cemetery is looking wonderful. And we have Edward to thank for that!
